No. Mailroom reads the envelope — sender, size, date, and attachment names, types and sizes. Never the message body, never the file contents. Everything runs on your own device: your message content, senders, subjects, and folder names never leave your device and are never sent to Mailroom. The full details are in our Privacy Notice.
The KeepSafe engine is designed to protect mail you're likely to want to keep. You review and confirm every cleanup before anything is removed — nothing is deleted without your confirmation. You also choose whether a cleanup goes to Trash or is deleted permanently.
If you chose delete to Trash, the mail is in your Yahoo Trash and you restore it from Yahoo Mail itself, on Yahoo's terms and timing. If you chose delete permanently, it is gone. Mailroom has no restore button, deliberately — what happens after a delete depends on things we don't control, and a button that can't keep its promise is worse than no button. Mailroom shows you what was removed; recovery, where it exists, lives in your mailbox.
On your own device. Mailroom connects directly to your mailbox from your device and does its work locally — it doesn't route your mailbox through a server to be read.
02Trial & licensing
The free trial lets you evaluate Mailroom before buying, with no card required. It runs for 14 days, or 10 MB of cleanup — whichever comes first. The app shows how much of your allowance is left as you go.
No. Mailroom plans are one-time, one-year licences, priced per mailbox-capacity tier. Nothing renews automatically. See Pricing for the tiers.
You buy inside the app, not on this website. Download Mailroom, connect your mailbox, run a free scan, and clear a first slice on the free trial. When you're ready, the app opens checkout for you and the licence activates on that machine. The pricing page shows the tiers; there is no purchase flow on this site.
03Getting started
Yahoo Mail is supported today. More providers are planned — see the roadmap on the home page.
You connect using an app password from your email provider. The app walks you through where to find it and how to enter it — it only takes a moment.
Mailroom is a Windows desktop app. You download and install it, then connect your mailbox.
That is expected at launch. Windows shows “Windows protected your PC” and lists the publisher as unknown, because Mailroom is signed with our own certificate rather than one bought from a certificate authority — and Windows only recognises certificates that have built up reputation with it. The warning is about who signed the file, not about anything found inside it. To continue: click More info, then Run anyway. A certificate Windows recognises is on our list.
04Using Mailroom
You can open the app and review your last scan offline. Running a new scan or a cleanup needs an internet connection — both to reach your mailbox over IMAP and to validate your licence.
Mailroom checks for updates and, when one is available, opens the download in your browser. You install the update yourself — the app never replaces itself silently.
Saving your password is optional. If you do, it's stored in your operating system's secure credential store, encrypted by the OS and kept local to your device. It's never sent to Mailroom.
05Billing & refunds

Uninstall Mailroom from Windows like any other app. Your local scan data is kept on your device unless you choose to remove it.
